FAQ - 💬❓ Is azzalure better than Botox?👉 Botox has more proteins; it is more like the natural product but may stimulate a greater immune response compared to the other products. Azzalure and Bocouture have fewer proteins, with Bocouture containing the least. This makes the product more “pure” but it may not contain all the properties conferred by Botox. ❓ Which lasts longer Botox or azzalure?👉 In theory, this should result in the body tending to break Azzalure down more slowly than Botox, and there are some studies that suggest Azzalure does last longer than Botox. From our own experience in clinic, we have found that the results produced by Azzalure do tend to last longer. ❓ How long does azzalure usually last?👉 Results are subtle and very natural looking and can last for up to 6 months in some patients. Many clients find that with regular use, the effects of Azzalure can last longer. For best effect, it is recommended you repeat your treatment after around 3 months. ❓ How long does it take azzalure to work?👉 The initial effect of Azzalure® treatment will begin to appear within 2 to 3 days. The effect of the injections is always temporary. It usually lasts about 4 months and sometimes more. The next treatment depends on the duration of the effect in each individual patient. ❓ How much azzalure do you need for 3 areas?👉 The recommended dose per side is 30 Speywood units of Azzalure, to be divided into 3 injection sites; 10 Speywood units are to be administered intramuscularly into each injection point. Injection should be lateral (20 - 30° angle) to the skin and very superficial. ❓ What happened to azzalure?👉 Our previously loved product which we knew offered fantastic results- Azzalure was rapidly diminishing in supply across the UK and the boxes could only be sourced in small numbers. By April 1st (no joke) there was a nationwide halt in the production of Azzlaure. ❓ How often can you have azzalure?👉 The interval between treatments with Azzalure will be decided by your doctor or other healthcare practitioner. You should not have treatment more often than every 12 weeks. Azzalure is not indicated for patients under the age of 18. ❓ Why is there a shortage of Azzalure?👉 Increased demand for toxin leads to shortage Pharmaceutical company Galderma has experienced a shortage of the abobotulinumtoxin A Azzalure in the UK, resulting in practitioners unable to receive their full supply at their clinics. ❓ Is azzalure safe?👉 While there are some key differences to consider, Botox and Azzalure are both known to be safe and effective methods of care. ❓ What is Azzalure used for?👉 Azzalure is indicated for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe • Glabellar lines (vertical lines between the eyebrows) seen at maximum frown and/or • Lateral canthal lines (crow's feet lines) seen at maximum smile ❓ What are the side effects of Azzalure?👉 Dry eye has been reported with the use of Azzalure in the treatment of glabellar lines and lateral canthal lines (see section 4.8). Reduced tear production, reduced blinking, and corneal disorders, may occur with the use of botulinum toxins, including Azzalure. ❓ When was Azzalure approved in the UK?👉 It gained approval for cosmetic use in the UK in early 2009 and is marketed for this indication, with dosing specific to treat glabellar (frown) lines, under the brand name Azzalure®. It is manufactured by the French company Ipsen and commercialised by Galderma. ❓ How should Azzalure be administered?👉 Azzalure should only be administered by physicians with appropriate qualifications and expertise in this treatment and having the required equipment. Once reconstituted, Azzalure should only be used to treat a single patient, during a single session. For instructions on reconstitution of the medicinal product before administration, see section 6.6. |
